Infusion Slope Soarer and Warmliner 2m
Description
INFUSION goes straight into your veins! Made by the same manufacturer as the well regarded Introduction F5J and Inside F5J the Infusion is designed to wow you with a new stimulation for your bloodstream!
With a wingspan of 1.95m, the 3-piece and 4 servo wing of the Infusion makes it an agile model with a wide range of applications. Easy and forgiving take-off, flight and landing characteristics, and with a wide speed range due to the fully cambered wing profile. By drooping the flaps and ailerons of the Selig 7012 profile the slope type glider design can be transformed into a lamblike glider with a surprisingly good thermal performance. Using the "butterfly" braking vertical descents from great heights are safe and a minimum of space is required for landing.
The Infusion can be built as a pure glider for slope soaring sites that do not allow motors, or a powerful motor can be installed to give hotliner-like climbs. Fitting a motor makes you independent of the flying site and allows a larger radius of action and "riskier" thermal tracking on slopes. The recommended propulsion - consisting of the BL outrunner Hacker A20-12XL, a 3-cell LiPo with 1300mAh capacity and the CamCarbon 10x6 - allows lots of climbs to thermally amazing heights and spectacular "rescue operations", if the lift on the slope is not as good as expected. Due to the light weight, 10s of engine run time per climb are absolutely sufficient.
For the glider and slope purists among you we offer a separately available Infusion Glider Conversion Kit
The Infusion is not recommended for beginners because of the fast climb and sensitive controls. For all the advanced pilots: Get it, enjoy the good quality of the kit, build it with enthusiasm, and have heavenly flights wherever you are!
Typical for this manufacturer, solid tubular spar construction with pullwinding spars. Compared to pultruded tubes these have a much higher bending and torsional strength. Precisely laser cut wooden construction, simplest construction (3D-puzzle). 3-piece wing, planked flat-built tailplane, removable elevator in front of the rudder (optional), 90° deflectable landing flaps (bottom mounted), integrated wing connectors in the main spar, innovative (tool- and tape-free) fixation of the outer wings. The main feature of the wing is the tubular carbon spar, onto which the laser cut ribs are threaded. Half-ribs in the front section of the wing ensure good airfoil accuracy and prevent the covering film from collapsing in this section of the profile. Stylish wingtips ensure an elegant appearance. The fuselage is consistently designed for the use of small brushless outrunners. With nearly 2m of wingspan, an all up weight of around 900 g, a wing area of 32dm² gives a wing loading of 28g/dm².
The fuselage (built from balsa, reinforced by "clicked in" plywood formers) is doubled-up by lightweight plywood underneath the wing. The milled bulkhead is already prepared for the mounting of a Hacker A20-12XL. The kit includes - besides laser cut parts - the GRP tube spars, GRP leading edges and all linkages and small parts. A full size multi-coloured construction plan and well illustrated German building instructions are included. The kit doesn't include any glues, covering material, power drive, batteries and RC components. As covering we recommend Oracover or Oralight covering film.
This model is called Slope Infusion in other places. See this RCGroups thread for more info.
Note the Dualsky, XPower and Mega motors do not have rotating cases and have rear mounted power leads and are thus easier to mount.
Choose a battery capacity after completing the model that will assist obtaining the correct CG.

Slope Infusion Warmliner
I haven't quite finished the build of the Infusion yet, but so far I am really impressed with the build quality, plans and ease of the build.
Shes got the looks of a fast model with a good presence so I am eager to finish her and and get her airbourn.
Thanks Neil for providing a great model!

Slope Infusion
I'm 75% through the build and impressed with the quality wood and great laser cutting. The lack of English instructions doesn't help and there is plenty of thought before glue is applied. It's worth checking the translation of the manual for the Inside F5J as it's from the same manufacturer and much of the construction is similar.
